What is Affray?
Affray occurs when a person uses or threatens violence towards another, and their behaviour causes a person of reasonable firmness present at the scene to fear for their safety.
This offence often arises in situations where:
A fight occurs between two or more individuals.
Members of the public are present and likely to feel threatened.
Weapons are used or missiles are thrown.

An immediate custodial sentence is possible, even for individuals with no prior convictions.
