What is Missile Throwing?
This offence occurs when a person at a designated football match throws anything:
At or towards the playing area.
At any area adjacent to the playing area where spectators are not generally admitted.
At any area where spectators or other persons are present or may be present.
Key Points:
No lawful authority or excuse is required to prove the offence.
The nature of the object thrown (e.g., coins, vapes, bottles, inflatables) or its potential to cause harm is irrelevant.
Court and Sentencing Information
Cases are exclusively heard in the Magistrates’ Court.
Maximum penalty: Level 3 Fine.
