What is Pitch Encroachment?
This offence occurs when a person at a designated football match goes onto the playing area, or an area adjacent to the pitch where spectators are not generally allowed, without lawful authority or excuse.
Common examples include:
Entering the pitch to celebrate or interact with players.
Stepping onto advertising hoardings or adjacent areas.
Actions with hostile intent toward players or officials.
The person's intention does not determine whether the offence is committed unless it constitutes a lawful excuse, such as avoiding injury or being carried involuntarily by a crowd.

Maximum penalty: A Level 3 fine.
