What is Possession of Alcohol Whilst Entering a Sports Ground or in View of Pitch?
This offence occurs when a person:

  • Has alcohol in their possession at any time during a designated sporting event while in an area of the sports ground where the event can be directly viewed.

  • Has alcohol in their possession while entering or attempting to enter the sports ground.

Court and Sentencing Information

  • Cases are exclusively heard in the Magistrates’ Court.

  • Maximum penalty: Level 3 Fine or 3 months’ imprisonment.
